Explanation of Terms
| Information Provider | • | The company/individual (specified person) who has submitted the specified information in respect of a product model under section 6 of Energy Efficiency (Labelling of Products) Ordinance, Cap 598. |
| Reference Number | • | The number assigned to a product model by the Director of Electrical & Mechanical Services under section 8 of the Energy Efficiency (Labelling of Products) Ordinance, Cap 598. |
| Year | • | The "Year" means the year in which the reference number is assigned or, where the energy efficiency grading is calculated in accordance with the new calculation method under section 12 of the Energy Efficiency (Labelling of Products) Ordinance, the year in which the new calculation method takes effect. |
| Brand | • | The particular name used by a manufacturer or importer to identify a product range. |
| Model | • | The particular name and/or number used by a manufacturer or importer to identify an individual product within a brand. |
| Energy Efficiency Grade (1 to 5) (from 1 Jun 2018) | • | The energy efficiency grade from 1 June 2018 is the energy efficiency grade calculated in accordance with the Code of Practice on Energy Labelling of Products 2018 (the Code). Grade 1 is the most efficient and Grade 5 is the least efficient. |

| Annual Standby Loss Energy Consumption (kWh) | • | The annual standby loss energy consumption is determined in accordance with the Code. It is calculated by multiplying the measured power consumption due to standby loss in idling time by an average of 1800 hours per year. |
| Storage Capacity (litre) | • | The storage capacity is determined in accordance with the Code. It refers to the measured water storage capacity. |
| Rated Water Storage Capacity (litre) | • | The water storage capacity as determined and declared by the manufacturer or importer of the storage type electric water heater in accordance with the standard and requirements specified in the Code. |
| Energy Consumption Index (%) | • | The energy consumption index of a storage type electric water heater is defined as the ratio of the variable standing loss of the storage type electric water heater to the average appliance energy consumption of a storage type electric water heater with similar category and same rated water storage capacity as found from the associated average appliance energy consumption equations in clause 13.5.6 of the Code. |
| Place of Manufacture | • | The place/country in which the storage type electric water heaters is manufactured. |
| Product being Supplied by Information Provider | • | Whether the Information Provider still supplies the product model in Hong Kong. “Yes” will be specified unless the Information Provider has notified the Electrical & Mechanical Services Department that he no longer supplies the model in Hong Kong. For up-to-date availability, please contact the respective Information Provider for further information. |
| Supply Information Last Updated Date | • | The date on which the Information Provider notified the Electrical & Mechanical Services Department on whether he still supplies the product model in Hong Kong. |
