機電工程署作為在本港推廣能源效益和節約能源的先鋒，一直致力籌辦和協辦各式各樣的社區外展及教育活動，而本署人員更經常獲邀在研討會和講座上主講有關能源效益的課題。

本署能源效益事務處的黃俊杰先生、屈兆鵬先生和黃志雄先生分別為香港生產力促進局於2012年1月舉辦的三場環保駕駛講座擔任講者。逾220位職業司機、車主和車隊經理參與該三場講座，學習如何透過環保駕駛和適當的車輛維修保養，達到更佳的節約燃料和減排廢氣效果。

此外，黃志雄先生亦於2012年1月30日會同衞生工程部出席在瑪嘉烈醫院舉行的座談會，講述有關「能源管理機會」的事宜，和與會者分享節能經驗。

除了講座和研討會，機電工程署亦積極參與公眾教育工作。助理署長/電力及能源效益李國強先生於1月8日為環保促進會舉辦的環保嘉年華2012擔任主禮嘉賓。李先生在典禮上向出席者講述本署持續推行的強制性能源效益標籤計劃，以及將於2012年9月21日全面實施的《建築物能源效益條例》。

As a pioneer in promoting energy efficiency and conservation in Hong Kong, EMSD has been associated with a diversity of community outreach and education programmes, and our team members are much sought after as speakers on energy efficiency topics.

Mr. Wong Chun-kit, Mr. Wut Siu-pang, Pan and Mr. Wong Chi-hung, Michael from our Energy Efficiency Office (EEO) spoke at three Eco-driving Seminars organised by the Hong Kong Productivity Council in January 2012. More than 220 professional drivers, vehicle owners and fleet managers attended the three seminars, learning how to enhance fuel economy and reduce emissions through eco-driving and vehicle maintenance.

To share experience on energy saving, Mr. Michael Wong also joined the Health Sector Division at a forum on 30 January, 2012 to present energy management opportunities at Princess Margaret Hospital.

In addition to talks and seminars, EMSD has been active in participating public education work. Assistant Director/Electricity and Energy Efficiency Mr. Li Kwok-keung officiated at the Green Council’s Green Carnival 2012 on 8 January. Mr. Li highlighted the ongoing Mandatory Energy Efficiency Labelling Scheme and the upcoming Buildings Energy Efficiency Ordinance to be in full operation on 21 September, 2012.
