E&M Carnival 2020 Online Quiz

Objective

The E&M Carnival 2020 Online Quiz aims to raise public awareness of electrical safety, gas safety, lift and escalator safety, safety of amusement rides, railway safety as well as energy saving and environmental protection through quiz games.

How to Take the Quiz

From now until 31 January 2020, register an account, enter your personal information, and answer the multiple choice questions about E&M safety, energy saving and environmental protection online. The score for the quiz will be recorded in your accounts.

Rules

Each participant can only register one account, otherwise he/she will be disqualified.
Participants can use their registered accounts to take the quiz. There is no restriction on the number of attempts for the quiz.
Participants are required to answer 15 multiple choice questions within the time limit; a maximum of 30 seconds is allowed for each question. Participants will get 10 points for each correct answer and 0 point for incorrect answer. The maximum score for each quiz is 150 points.
The system will randomly select 15 questions for each quiz. Participants must answer all the questions before the total score attained in the quiz can be recorded in their accounts.

Prizes

Prizes for each category include:

Champion (One):	Gift vouchers worth HK$1,000 and a certificate
1st Runner-up (One):	Gift vouchers worth HK$500 and a certificate
2nd Runner-up (One):	Gift vouchers worth HK$300 and a certificate

In addition, the first 100 participants who have scored 100 points or above in a quiz (except those who have won the Champion, 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up in any category) will receive gift vouchers worth HK$50. Each participant is only entitled to one prize.

If it happens that participants score the same points, the one who has obtained the score first according to the Organiser’s record will be the winner.

Points to Note:

To ensure fairness, staff members of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department are not allowed to participate in the quiz.
The Organiser has the right to request the winners to provide identification proof for verification. Prizes will only be awarded upon verification of identity.
The Organiser reserves the right to change and interpret the rules of this quiz without prior notice. The Organiser’s decisions on the quiz results are final and binding on the participants.

The personal data provided will be kept confidential and only be used for the purposes related to this quiz.

The personal data collected by the Organiser will only be used for the purposes related to the E&M Carnival 2020 Online Quiz. Participants have the right to request access to and the correction of their personal data. Such requests should be made in writing and mailed to the following address:

Open Group	Residents holding a valid Hong Kong Identity Card. Participants register their accounts in personal capacity and the quiz results will be recorded in their personal accounts.
Primary Group	Primary One to Primary Six students. Participants register their accounts in personal capacity and the quiz results will be recorded in their personal accounts.
Secondary Group	Secondary One to Secondary Six students. Participants register their accounts in personal capacity and the quiz results will be recorded in their personal accounts.
Co-organiser	Co-organisers shall take part in the quiz with their designated accounts. The quiz results will be recorded in the accounts of their respective organisations.
