The 200-seat lecture theatre on the seventh floor, for EMSTF client seminars as well as educational talks for students and the public.

The first floor also has a state-of-the-art Data Centre, equipped with a 10-Gigabite Ethernet infrastructure network, the latest IT equipment and hardware, as well as excellent physical and information security features. It satisfies EMSD's internal operational needs and also provides a full range of data centre solutions and services to Trading Services clients. Another new IT facility is the Information Service Centre. Located on the sixth floor, it provides an integrated platform for wireless remote facilities monitoring and management of client venues.

Visitors to the sixth and seventh floors are often surprised to find that overhead lights automatically switch on as they move through the hallways. Similarly, office ceiling lights switch on when one enters, switch off when one leaves, and dim down when there is ample sunlight. Motion and daylight sensors are at work here to minimise energy consumption, eliminating all manual switches from the offices on these two floors. A casual visit to the offices reveals that all EMSD colleagues use energy-saving desk lamps to further reduce electricity consumption. In addition, ten daylight collectors have been installed on the roof of the EMSD Headquarters. Through groups of reflective pipes called sunpipes, daylight illuminates part of the lobby on the seventh floor, minimising the need for artificial lighting.
