Nuclear Safety

We also perform an advisory and technical support role on matters relating to nuclear safety. The work includes :

giving professional advice to the Government on matters relating to nuclear power and associated emergency preparedness;
reviewing and implementing departmental plans in preparedness for nuclear emergencies;
planning and participating in exercises and drills in response to nuclear emergencies;
responding immediately to initial alerts;
interpreting and assessing engineering data/information received; and
keeping abreast of the latest developments on nuclear engineering.
