Our Goal
The management and staff of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department are committed to building a better environment through ongoing environment conservation, protection and improvement programmes.
Our Policy
- To take pride in ourselves as a responsible organisation that is helping to build a better environment.
- To take every reasonable and practicable measure to conserve resources, minimise the generation of waste and prevent pollution in each and everyone of our business operation processes.
- To comply with green legislation as the baseline of our operations and to ensure that all staff behave accordingly.
- To encourage our contractors and their staff to be equally friendly to the environment.
- To ensure that our environment management system conforms to internationally recognized ISO 14001 standards.
Our Achievements
Hand-in-hand with our commitment to quality, we believe that quality services must in turn contribute to quality of life for everyone in Hong Kong. Our Environmental Management System provides us a planned, integrated and focused approach in protecting, conserving and improving the environment as we carry out our activities to combat climate change in developing Hong Kong to be a smart and low carbon city for sustainability. Adopting green measures with good practices in supporting green building is the priority of EMSTF. We are also dedicated to promoting green buildings and the EMSD Headquarters Building was the first existing government building being awarded the Platinum Rating under BEAM Plus for "Existing Buildings" and "Neighbourhood" from the Hong Kong Green Building Council in year 2016.
